Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence (SPIR) grant deadline 3/31/2011

The Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence (SPIR) grant makes it easier for companies to gain access to technical assistance and competitive advantage. Reply by 3/31/2011 and your organization will be considered for a matching fund of up to $25,000 for services through the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

SPIR subsidies can fund:
• Facility layout optimization, materials handling and workflow analysis (from factory floor and warehouse to office and emergency room analysis and simulation)
• Research, material selection and product development
• Material and structural analysis, product modeling and simulation
• Ergonomics and human factors consultation and analysis
• Biometrics and the design, development, and prototype of sensors
• Engineers, scientists and students, both grad/undergrad

Organizations of 500 employees and less are eligible for SPIR funding. The grant underwrites up to 50% of project costs and does not cover capital expenses. Selected recipients must minimally spend an amount that matches the grant award.
