Northland - Beltline Corridor Redevelopment

Qualifications are being solicited from Planning, Architectural and Real Estate teams to prepare a redevelopment strategy for a group of industrial properties the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation (BUDC) is acquiring along Northland Avenue and E. Delavan Street near the Beltline Corridor.  BUDC's purpose for these acquisitions is to return these properties to productive use, anchor the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood, and provide employment opportunities for nearby residents by creating a new manufacturing hub on Buffalo's East Side.  BUDC will be acquiring a total of twelve properties totaling over 700,000 square feet and 50 acres.  BUDC is seeking teams with expertise in urban planning, architecture, engineering, environmental engineering, real estate market analysis and community outreach.  The deadline for submitting qualification statements is 4:00 p.m., December 5, 2014.  All teams must commit to work towards a goal of 25% Minority & Women Business Enterprise utilization (combined).  An information meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 9:00 am in the 5th Floor Conference Room at 95 Perry Street, Buffalo, NY.  The full RFQ can be obtained by contacting David Stebbins, Buffalo Urban Development Corporation, 95 Perry Street, Suite 404, Buffalo, New York 14203; 716-362-8378, and dstebbins@buffalourbandevelopment.com; or by registering below:

Buffalo Urban Development Corporation, Buffalo Place and Working for Downtown are encouraging the Western New York retail community to submit proposals to the Queen City Pop-Up Project. This initiative is designed to encourage retail activity along Main Street by creating new "pop-up" shops that feature local retailers. The winners of the Queen City Pop-Up Project will receive free rent in a select retail location for the holiday season.

The Buffalo Urban Development Corp., (B U D C), is requesting proposals for supplying services for the lawn care, landscaping and snow plowing requirements

as better specified in the attached project package for the Buffalo Lakeside Commerce Park located in S. Buffalo near Tifft Street wrapping around the Union Ship Canal.

This agreement will be for a three year term and the bids are due back to 95 Perry St., suite 404 by 1:30 PM on October 10th, 2014. A site visit is encouraged and will be held

on September 24th at 1:30 PM in the parking lot south of the canal. The authorized staff for all questions pertaining to this process is Phil Riggs at priggs@ecidany.com

Buffalo Green Code Update

Over the past two years, the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning, its' consultant team, and the community have been diligently working on the Buffalo Green Code.  Based upon this input and the thousands of comments received prior to these meetings, the City's consultants have been busy preparing a draft of the zoning code.  The City is currently reviewing the details with stakeholders and draft sections are available online at ftp://ftp.ci.buffalo.ny.us/Planning/GreenCode/GreenCodeWorkingDraftUDO/

Written comments can be submitted to John Fell, Senior Planner with the City of Buffalo at PLAN81@ch.ci.buffalo.ny.us.  A public draft is scheduled to be released in the next few months, which will incorporate comments received to date.  Your participation is welcome and encouraged.
