ECIDA Loan Helps Niagara Lubricant Rebuild Buffalo Plant

On July 17 Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, our own President and CEO Steve Weathers, and a host of community leaders gathered at Niagara Lubricant to tour their new East Side facility. The ECIDA loaned $150,000 for the purchase of new equipment, and brought Niagara Lubricant together with the National Development Council, who were able to finance an additional $2.1 million loan through the Grow America Fund. The loans helped owner Leon Smith III relocate and rebuild after the 2011 fire that devastated his former Black Rock facility.
